MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly weighing up a potential move for Christopher Nkunku. The striker's brief stint with Chelsea hasn't quite gone plan to plan, with the Frenchman only scoring 16 goals in 42 appearances. Bayern Munich are understood to be contemplating offering the former RB Leipzig hitman a return to the Bundesliga.

Chelsea have reportedly not made a decision on the future of Nkunku, which ESPN claim United want to be kept apprised of. The Red Devils were reportedly keen on signing the France star when he was on the books at Leipzig. Nkunku could be brought in as a potential replacement for Alejandro Garnacho, who Chelsea are understood to be interested in signing.

United have reportedly slapped a £55million asking price on the head of the 20-year-old, who Blues boss Enzo Maresca hasn't ruled out a move for. He said: "We pay attention [to the market] if something can happen. "But 10 days to go, we didn’t do anything, just we called back Trev [Chalobah].

Maresca has seemingly indicated that Nkunku will get more minutes should he opt not to leave Stamford Bridge this winter. He said of Nkunku and Joao Felix: "I can say that they are Chelsea players, that’s for sure.

The challenge for Joao and Christopher is that we predominantly field just one attacking midfielder in most matches. "And the primary choice for that position has fallen on Cole Palmer. "For this reason, Nkunku and Felix are gradually receiving playing time, but both are fantastic footballers.
