A court in Manchester has replaced its answerphone message after callers were left in stitches because of the 'deranged' voice used for the recording. Perplexed callers took to social media earlier this week after noticing the male voice behind Manchester Civil Justice Centre's automated message sounded like 'a gameshow host'.

The post of the recording was accompanied by a comment which said: 'The man in the automated message on the Manchester Civil Justice Centre phone number genuinely sounds unhinged.

'It only gets worse the longer you listen. Just wait for the bit about bailiffs. Who approved this???'. At the beginning of the clip, the male voice announces, 'Thank you for calling Manchester Service Centre' in what appears to be a localised Mancunian accent.

However, as the message goes on, the accent oddly appears to evolve into an entirely new one. Only 13 seconds into the recording, the male voice states the opening hours of the Civil Court Counter while speaking in a southern, received pronunciation accent.
