Mark Wright has proudly shown off the phenomenal makeover of the staircase at the sprawling mansion he shares with wife Michelle Keegan as they eagerly await their first child. Former Coronation Street star Michelle, 37, announced the exciting news that she's expecting her first little one with TOWIE star Mark, 38, back in December. During the glum months of December and January, Michelle had shared snaps huddled up in their luxurious £3.5million Essex pad as she rests during her pregnancy.
And now, the couple's home Instagram account has given a peek into the "mind blowing" transformation of their spiral staircase, which effortlessly takes centre stage in their not-so-humble abode. Photos reveal the dazzling white marble staircase spiralling upwards, complete with sophisticated black railings towards the upper levels. The elegance is topped off with a chandelier decked with white glass baubles, delicately suspended from the high ceilings, directing attention along the majestic stairway to the ground level.
The couple also teased fans by posting previously unseen pictures showing the staircase's appearance before the renovations. They captioned the post: "Still mind blowing how the staircase ended up. Swipe for before's. Designed & built by @escalier_uk.". Eager followers didn't hold back their awe, as one commented: "What a beautiful staircase. What's that lovely flooring I see on the landings." Another user quipped: "This is how I want my stairs but I just remembered I'm not rich," while a third remarked: "Sooo beautiful.".
Meanwhile, a fourth offered a warning to expectant mum Michelle as they wrote: "Lovely x but please make sure your baby will be safe when they start walking.". The former Coronation Street star revealed that she was expecting her first baby with husband Mark Wright, 38, at the end of December, and has mainly been enjoying her journey into motherhood in private. Michelle and Mark got married in 2015, and the star admitted that speculation around their lack of children in the early years of their marriage led to her desire for privacy. “Around the time we got married, I was open about the fact that I wanted to have a family but then, because we didn't choose to have children within a certain time, there was lots of speculation,” she told Grazia.
The star added: “I made the decision to not talk publicly about that side of my life. I’m going to be 38 this year and, as I’ve got older, I feel more confident about my boundaries.”. Michelle has spoken about the issue before, reminding others that it’s none of their business whether a couple is trying for a baby or not. As previously reported by the Mirror, she said: "It's horrible. "People don't know if we're trying. They don't know the background of what's happening. In this day and age, you shouldn't be asking questions like that. I'm asked purely because I’m a woman. But I'm immune to it now - it's like a reaction, and as soon as I hear it I brush it off as it's no one else's business.".
While Michelle is now choosing to speak out a bit more about her family life, TV execs reportedly want her and Mark to reveal even more in a reality TV show about their first time becoming parents, with an insider claiming that proposals for the potential docuseries are being written up at the moment. "A couple of production companies are writing up propositions to see if they'd let in cameras to follow them becoming parents,” a source recently told The Sun. "These fly-on-the-wall shows are huge on ITV, as well as streamers like Prime, and there is a huge audience that would love an insight into Michelle and Mark's world. It's all just in the planning stages and no formal approaches have been made but the offers are close to being finalised.”.
