Millie Bobby Brown sparks speculation she will star in Britney Spears' biopic after debuting striking new look

Millie Bobby Brown has sparked suspicion that she's getting ready to play Britney Spears after revealing her jaw-dropping new blonde hairstyle. The Stranger Things actress, 20, who has had brunette locks for some time, unveiled her transformation in a series of snaps shared to Instagram on Saturday. Bidding farewell to 2024, Millie also showcased her figure in a form-fitting black dress. Shortly after posting, Millie's followers questioned whether she could be about to portray Britney, 43, in a new project – especially given that she previously stated her desire to do so.

Taking to the comments, one said: 'BRITNEY IS COMING.'. 'Ready to play Britney now,' another said, which prompted one user to reply, 'she would be perfect.'. Agreeing with the sentiment, another wrote: 'That's not a bad idea actually!'. 'BRITNEY???' said a fifth. During an appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show, she revealed her dream role for after Stranger Things. 'I wanna play a real person,' Millie said, adding that she wanted to portray iconic pop star Britney. 'I think her story, first of all, resonates with me,' the Enola Holmes actress explained.

She said the two shared the experience of 'growing up in public,' and Millie suggested she detected similar feelings when she would watch old interviews with the Toxic singer. Shortly afterwards, Britney slammed the idea of a biopic about her life. 'I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life... dude I'm not dead!!!' she said in a length Instagram post. Millie has previously revealed playing Britney in a biopic would be a dream role.

Fans are busy speculating whether Millie might have bagged a project to play the pop star. In August 2024, however, it was reported that Britney's tell-all memoir The Woman In Me is set to become a major motion picture after it was revealed that Universal had picked up the rights. The singer also teased the project on X, formerly Twitter, revealing that she is working with producer Marc Platt, who is responsible for making the Legally Blonde franchise starring Reese Witherspoon a huge success.

Several documentaries have been made about Britney's life, including the New York Times documentaries which shed light on her conservatorship.
