Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has hit back at the concerns over her so-called reunion with ex-fiancé Tommy Fury. The pair met on season five of Love Island in 2019, dated for five years, welcomed their daughter Bambi into the world two years ago, and got engaged last year. However, things came to a halt for the couple in August last year. The reality TV personality, 25, and her fiancé Tommy, also 25, split last summer while continuing to co-parent their daughter, Bambi.

There were rumours Tommy was the reason for their breakup, with reports going around he was unfaithful. However, he shut down the claims in a recent interview and claimed his drinking problems were the reason they went their separate ways. On New Year's Eve, they sparked reunion rumours when they were spotted sharing a cheeky smooch at a lavish NYE party. In the days that followed, the duo even liked each other's posts. On several occasions, Tommy was spotted arriving at her Cheshire mansion looking comfortable. And now, after constant speculation about their relationship status, Molly-Mae's representative set the record straight.

Following reports family were 'horrified' that she has 'reunited' with boxer Tommy, a representative told us: "At this current time Molly is focusing on what's best for herself and her daughter whilst co-parenting... Others' opinions on her relationship is not her focus or her concern. Only she knows how she feels.". In Tommy's interview with Men's Health, he revealed the real reason their relationship broke down. "The reason why me and Molly broke up was because I got addicted to alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore," Tommy tells Men's Health Magazine. "It kills me to say it, [but] it’s true, I couldn’t. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink, and it is what it is. People go through different things in life and we all have our crosses to bear. I’ve got mine to bear.".

Tommy then explained to the publication how his issues with alcohol started when he snapped the ligaments in his hand in 2019, which eventually led to reconstructive surgery at the start of last year. He admitted his "mental health was in the pan" after the operation and he felt a part of his identity was removed when he could no longer box or train. "I’ve only lived for training and my family, and that was all snatched away from me. So what I did for fun is I started to drink quite a lot. I found that's what made me feel better," the dad-of-one recalls. "I wanted the endorphins that I’d get when I’d finish a good session, when I’d finish sparring, when I’d finish fighting.".
