A BARGAIN-MAD mum has revealed the easy way she got piles of beauty buys, including viral anti-ageing skincare, totally for free. Boots has slashed its winter sale prices with best-sellers now reduced from 70% off to 90% off in-store as customers flock to snap up bargain deals. The sale includes candles, perfumes, make-up and gift sets from brands including Soap & Glory, No7, Disney and FCUK, as shoppers flood social media with photos of their rock-bottom finds.

One of them, thrifty mum Claire, took to TikTok to show off her epic bargain finds - which the lucky Boots customer didn't spend a single penny on. All chuffed on her jaw-dropping haul, the Manchester-based mum claimed the total costs of everything she had snapped up should've been £110. However, as Claire had racked up enough points earnt from Scan2Recycle, she was able to bag it all completely free of charge.

The health and beauty retailer runs a scheme where you can return make-up empties and baby wipe packets in exchange for cash to spend in store. Every five items you return will earn you the equivalent of £5. The only catch is you have to be an Advantage Card member to benefit from the scheme. It’s all thanks to the Recycle at Boots scheme. The planet-focused initiative allows shoppers to exchange empty beauty, health and dental items in-store that can't be recycled at home.
In return, and after a £10 shop and recycling a minimum of five products, you will receive £5 worth of Advantage Card points for free. It might not seem a lot, but Claire was able to walk home with piles of viral goodies, including anti-ageing skincare, without having to fork out a penny. Some of the epic cut-price items she got her hands on included a gingerbread candle, L'Oreal Vitamin C Brightening Mask, which usually retails for £5.99, L'Oreal Revitalift Brightening Serum (£10 on Amazon) - both part of a gift set that would set you back £70.
The beauty set also came with L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Clinical SPF 50+, she showed in the video. She said: ''Despite a nice little selection in my local store, I didn't go mad. ''Apparently, this lot should've been £110.''. Claire went on in the caption: ''The main winner of the sale was the L'Oréal set (there was another set for £4.80 with a mascara in it that looked amazing too but I opted for this one).
''If I bought the items in it separately, it would have cost £52.46!. ''That's crazy value, especially as they are offer prices. There were absolutely loads of these sets too (the Boots near the big Tesco in Bury if you're local to me).''. Dozens of fellow bargain hunters flooded to comments, where they shared the results of their epic hauls - but not everyone had managed to bag goodies. One keen shopper said: ''My boots was super empty at 3:30pm when i went in!''.
Someone else warned fellow residents, writing there was ''nothing in Huddersfield''. ''The one in the Arndale was empty when I popped in after work!'' another cried. BOOTS has never given a full list of the 300 stores closing. Here's what we know so far about some of the locations where branches that have gone for good. If your local store doesn't have many bargains on the shop floor, there are still great deals to be had on Boots.com.
We did some exploring and found big discounts online, including a Real Techniques brush set selling for 60% off, now £24 from £60. You can also now shop No7's Lift and Luminate Collection 5 Piece Gift Set for 60% less than normal, now £53.51 and usually £137.50. To find your nearest store you can search for the store locator tool on the Boots website. And even though these prices are up to 90% off, it’s always good to to search around to see if sale products are cheaper anywhere else.
