GORDON RAMSAY has revealed the "boring" meals he swears by when he's trying to stay in shape. The 58-year-old is one of the most accomplished food connoisseurs in the world, with more than 20 cookbooks, 80 restaurants and 17 Michelin stars to his name.

But the TV chef admits that his own meals are a lot plainer than anything he'd expect people to dish up on Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares. He told Men's Health that his daily diet consists of a protein shake in the morning followed by scrambled eggs for lunch.

Eggs can help you feel fuller for longer and are a complete source of protein, containing all nine essential amino acids that the body can't produce on its own. And for dinner? Some simple poached chicken or fish, which uses minimal to no added fat. He still has standards when it comes to his cooking methods too - insisting he will never boil his meat of choice.

In his usual sweary manner, he joked: "Boiling it is going to give it a texture like f***ing Gandhi’s flip-flop.". Ramsay, whose weight ballooned to 18st at his heaviest, has also learned to watch his portion sizes. "It’s like a ballerina – tiny little mouthfuls, tiny little tastings", he added.

The TV chef tops up his healthy diet with regular exercise and signs up to two events - such as Ironman or a marathon - every year. The TV chef's meal admission comes after wife Tana made a revelation of her own. The 50-year-old admitted that the celebrity chef didn't attend the births of their first four children - and it wasn't due to work commitments or travel issues.
