A woman has been threatened with divorce after her husband was left furious over her actions at a brunch event. The 30-year-old woman went to the event, which was being hosted by her friend, with her husband, 31, in tow. The event was “lively” and included entertainment, music and a range of performances.
The entertainment eventually progressed into a salsa performance with the dancers then “involving the crowd”. When she was approached by a male dancer and asked if she wanted to dance, she obliged. The woman thought it would be “fun and light-hearted” but didn’t realise it would “include him carrying, swinging, and dipping” her as part of the salsa routine. As it was “very brief”, she “just went along with it” because she didn’t want to be “rude or cause a scene”.
After finishing, she sat back down with her husband and noticed he looked “visibly angry” but he remained quiet until later that night. He then told her she “embarrassed him in front of everyone” and “completely disrespected him by dancing with another man”.
He claimed this proved she didn’t truly know him or “care about his feelings” and “was so upset” that he asked for a divorce. On Reddit, the woman explained: “To me, it was an innocent interaction. “I didn’t think accepting a dance during a public performance would be such a big deal, but I never meant to hurt or disrespect him.
