Wedding planner and venue owner Alison Rios McCrone helps solve your dilemmas, no matter how big or small, in a weekly agony aunt column. Dear Alison,. I’m getting married in 2025 and have hit a stumbling block around my kids. Me and my fiancé have two children, one aged three and the other 15 months. We obviously want them there for some of our wedding day, like the ceremony and the meal, but the evening party won’t be suitable for them (not to mention way past their bedtime) and I’m worried how to entertain them during quieter bits like the photos.

All of our usual babysitters – aka their relatives! – will be at the wedding and I want them to have a good time, not to be looking after the children. We have had a look for on-the-day sitters but hiring a professional for most of the day is going to add at least £300 to our budget, plus taxi fare to take them back to the hotel and dinner.

Do you have any advice for how to keep kids entertained and looked after during their parents’ wedding day? Anything that isn’t going to cost the earth would be really good!. Thanks,. Tilly. Weddings are joyful occasions – but they’re also incredibly stressful. Whether you’re a bride or groom, best woman or man, family member or friend of the couple, the run up to the big day can be very tense.
