You are what you drink, and a naturopathic doctor has revealed which 'toxic' drinks you should avoid for a healthier body. The startling information was shared in a TikTok this week by Dr. Janine Bowring, a Canada-based expert who has over 25 years of experience.

'[These drinks] can harm your health,' she captioned the video, urging people to make healthier choices. The first beverage she instructed people to avoid is alcohol. 'The research has shown that things like beer and wine can - and most times do - contain glyphosate,' she explained in the clip.

The expert went on to reveal that glyphosate is a herbicide that can damage your gut wall lining. 'That's called leaky gut syndrome, and this can then lead into some autoimmune [problems],' she said. Secondly, while it may seem like a good idea to reach for a sports drink after a big exercise session, Dr. Bowring suggested avoiding them.

The startling information was shared in a TikTok this week by Dr. Janine Bowring, a Canada-based expert who has over 25 years of experience. 'They're loaded with sugar, and if it's the low sugar type, they have artificial sweeteners most times,' she pointed out.

'Number three on my list is diet sodas,' the doctor shared. 'So unfortunately, a lot of them are made with aspartame - actually rat poison.'. Number four was a little more unexpected - coconut water. 'Out of season, it can be a problem,' she shared with viewers. 'Not only does it have a little bit of sugar, but it does have deuterium and can really deplete your energy over time.'.

She then shared the fifth and final toxic drink - fruit juice, which she labeled as the 'surprising one.'. '[Fruit juice] is very high in fructose can cause that fatty liver,' she explained. Previously, Dr. Bowring revealed the bizarre secret to living longer - suggesting that taking fewer breaths may actually be the secret to a longer life.

'If you can slow your breathing down to about five point five breaths per minute, that is related now to longevity,' she continued. The doctor then started to compare human beings to other animals, like dolphins and whales, who take fewer breaths and live 'much longer' than humans.

She said that these mammals only take three to five breaths per minute. 'Whereas, a mouse takes 90 to 250 breaths per minute, and they only live two to seven years,' she explained. 'Stress, as we know, when we're stressed out, we breathe more quickly, and we know that stress is definitely correlated with a shorter life, so my tip here is to consciously breathe, slowing down the breath,' the doctor continued.
