Shoppers are raving about a 'hidden gem' inside IKEA stores that offers popular furniture pieces for a fraction of the price. The Swedish home furnishings giant has a bargain corner, otherwise known as the 'As-Is' market, typically located near the check-outs at the front of every store. The section offers a huge selection of items, including discontinued products, second-hand furniture which are mostly assembled and ex-showroom displays - with discounts ranging from 20-75 per cent off the original price, depending on condition.

Zoe, from Melbourne, couldn't believe her luck when she stumbled across the 'perfect' couch and bed frame in the As-Is section. 'I've been looking for a green velvet couch, as a woman does... The second I step into the As-Is section in IKEA, I see this green velvet couch for 40 per cent off,' she said. 'I really cannot complain like you're actually joking me. This is perfect.'. The shopper snapped up the green velvet three-seat sofa, an old showroom model, for just $719.40, down from its original price of $1,199.

'How much was it? 45 per cent off. It ended up being like a hundred bucks... I had to take it because I (already) had this mattress,' she explained. 'I wasn't looking for a bedframe but this is perfect. 'IKEA coming in hot with their As-Is pieces.'. She urged everyone to visit the little-known section at IKEA. 'This is your sign to check out the As-Is section in IKEA,' she said, adding: 'Definitely stop by the next time you go it is incredible.

'It's just (located) before self-serve checkout at the end of the warehouse section.'. Zoe also purchased a MALM queen size bedframe for just $100, normally priced at $329.
