Not many TV shows managed to capture the zeitgeist quite like Ugly Betty. The show, which first aired in the UK in January 2007, ran for four successful seasons - winning a slew of accolades on the way, including a Golden Globes and Teen Choice Award.

It followed the life of working-class journalism graduate Betty Suarez (America Ferrera) trying to navigate the vapid and sometimes just down-right mean world of the fashion industry. With echoes of the Devil Wears Prada, Ugly Betty was also groundbreaking in its portrayal of same-sex relationships and trans identity.

In the UK, the show is still available to watch on Channel 4. Over in the US, Ugly Betty was put onto Netflix in 2023, almost 20 years after the first episode debuted, and has re-sparked people's obsession. But, is a reunion ever going to be in the works?.

Appearing on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live this week, Ana Ortiz (who played Betty's sassy sister Hilda) was asked: "Now that Ugly Betty is so popular on Netflix, have there been any recent discussion about doing some kind of reunion special?" To fans' delight, the actress replied: "There's been so much talk about it... We're all really, really wanting to do a reunion.".

Ana also revealed that the cast is still 'very close'. In fact, her on-screen sister is the godmother to her child, while Judith Light's (who played Clare Meade) husband is her son's godfather. "I literally just texted with Michael Yuri," she added. "I see Mark Indelicato (aka Justin) probably every day.'.
