Oleksandr Usyk didn't have to rush to hospital after his latest win over Tyson Fury – unlike allegedly in his post-fight experience from his first victory over the Brit in May. The 37-year-old claimed a second consecutive victory against the 'Gypsy King' on Saturday (December 21) in Saudi Arabia, via unanimous decision, to defend his undisputed heavyweight titles.

Usyk's post-fight look from both fights differed greatly as he sported heavy bruises and cuts on his face after his win over Fury in May, compared to some minimal bruising under his eyes in his latest triumph. The Ukrainian appeared to take less punishment in the rematch, which the judges ultimately scored unanimously in his favour, with all three calling it 116-112.

While Fury claimed Usyk was forced to go to the hospital after their first fight due to a suspected broken jaw, the champion refuted the claim, but did admit just how much their battle took a toll on his body. After their clash earlier this year, Usyk admitted: "Yes, I have a little bit of a problem but I have problems with my fist, my back, my whole body because it's a hard fight, 47 minutes.".

Despite all the preparation from Fury, which included not speaking to wife Paris for three months while training for the rematch, he could still not get the better of his opponent. And it remains to be seen whether that failure to truly trouble Usyk will result in the Gypsy King retiring from boxing.
