The police have issued an update on the death of Hollyoaks’ Paul Danan. The actor, known for his role as Sol Patrick in the show, died at the age of 46. His management confirmed the news yesterday morning, writing: ‘It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of @pauldanan at just 46 years old.

Now, the police have confirmed they are not treating Paul’s death as suspicious. Avon and Somerset Police said: ‘Officers attended a property in Brislington, Bristol, at around 5.20pm yesterday where sadly a man in his 40s was declared deceased by paramedics.

Metro has contacted Avon and Somerset Police. Paul had opened up about his battle with drug and alcohol addiction on a number of occasions, but had previously said that he had been clean for more than three years. Last year he revealed that he had to receive CPR in a touch-and-go moment.
