Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden have shared new photographs of their newborn daughter. The couple, who welcomed Princess Ines Marie Lilian Silvia on February 7, posted adorable images on Instagram of their daughter meeting her older brothers, Prince Alexander, eight, Prince Gabriel, seven, and Prince Julian, three. In the first snap, the three older brothers admired the bundle of joy, who was wrapped in a warm blanket.

The second image showed three-year-old Prince Julian sweetly pecking his younger sister on the forehead. King Carl XVI Gustaf last week informed the Government that the Princess, who is eighth in line to the throne, is called Ines Marie Lilian Silvia; known as Princess Ines - and has been granted the Duchy of Västerbotten. Weighing a little over eight pounds at birth, the Swedish newborn is the couple's first baby girl.

It comes after King Carl XVI Gustaf formally announced the name of his new baby granddaughter - but accidentally got her name wrong. The royal family attended the official announcement of her name earlier this week at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. The couple revealed their newborn's name was Princess Ines Marie Lilian Silvia - and shared an adorable photo of their bundle of joy to Instagram. But King Carl, the baby's grandfather, caused confusion after announcing the baby would be known as Princess Inse instead. He also said her middle names in the wrong order, instead calling her 'Silvia Marie Lilian'.
In video footage obtained by Swedish news channel TV4, the error went relatively unnoticed aside from a few baffled glances at the awkward mistake. The King, who has dyslexia, later issued an apology via the royal court, telling Swedish Magazine Svensk Damtidning: 'The King is very sorry that he said the wrong name. Three-year-old Prince Julian pecked his younger sister Ines on the forehead in the second Instagram picture.
'The reason he said the wrong name is that the names were kept secret until just before the council, even from the King.'. A delighted Carl Philip, 45, was pictured at the event, which also included a gathering at the Palace church, with Ines's three older brothers - his children Prince Alexander, eight, Prince Gabriel, seven, and Prince Julian, three - all sporting smart suits. Other royals present included Crown Princess Victoria, and Queen Silvia.
'In accordance with His Majesty The King's decision of 7 October 2019 regarding changes in The Royal House, Princess Ines is a member of the Royal Family but not of The Royal House,' the royal website read. 'The Princess will therefore not enjoy the style of Royal Highness.'. The name has roots in a number of languages, and means 'pure', 'chaste' and 'holy'. Her middle names are a tribute to her grandmother Queen Silvia, and Princess Sofia's mother, Marie Hellqvist. Ines is King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia's ninth grandchild.

The cute photo was shared on the Palace's Instagram account - after members of the Swedish royal family beamed as they attended a Council of State meeting for the special occasion.
Commenters rushed to share the congratulations to the family, with messages of support. 'Adorable! Congratulations on the little Princess!' one penned. 'So sweet,' a second gushed. A third penned: 'Such a pretty little Ines! Congratulations to the whole family.'. According to the Palace, the royal, 40, delivered a 'healthy' daughter at on Friday February 7 at 1.10pm, with her husband by her side. As she left the hospital, Princess Sofia was glowing, looking radiant as she smiled at waiting photographers.
She was dressed casually, wrapping up warmly for the brisk Swedish weather, donning dark flared trousers, a high neck cream sweater, and a coordinating cream jacket. She wore her brunette tresses loose, and a natural make-up look, with glowing skin. She finished off the look with a baseball cap and thick soled dark boots.
