Rachael Ray has been mercilessly mocked and accused of committing a 'hate crime' after a video of her making pozole resurfaced online. Pozole is a traditional Mexican soup or stew, but it seems Rachael was not following the correct recipe and one person claimed she had 'butchered' the dish. The 56-year-old demonstrated her version of pozole on the Rachael Ray Show five years ago, but the footage has recently made its way back online.

In the clip, which was posted on Instagram, a group of Mexican women were filmed watching Rachael make the dish - and they were less than impressed. Reacting in real time, one of the women said immediately: 'We're already off to a bad start,' as the other pointed out that Rachael was using chili beans and declared: 'That's not pozole!'. 'It looks like the soup I make for my dogs with kibble,' the first woman mocked, before admitting: 'I wouldn't eat that.'.

The two women were even more disappointed when they realized Rachael was adding honey to the concoction and accused the TV cook of 'using everything from a can.'. At the end of the video, the live studio audience applauded Rachael for her creation and the two Mexican women were stunned: 'Please! Why are they clapping? Don't clap for that!'. Pozole is a traditional Mexican soup or stew but Rachael was slammed for not making it properly. The comments on the post were just as negative, as one person claimed there were 'so many cultural crimes committed.'. A second person accused: 'She just threw everything in there she thinks is Mexican and called it pozole.'. A third claimed: 'Every time Rachel Ray makes Mexican food it's horrendous! There's a video of her making Mexican rice that's just ridiculous.'.

A fourth Instagram user joked: 'I'd like to make a citizen's arrest please... this is a hate crime!'. And a fifth suggested: 'Mexican cuisine is protected by UNESCO so can we report this or something lol.'. Someone else agreed and said: 'Sour cream on pozole and all canned ingredients? This is a hate crime.'. A different person claimed, 'That looked like dive bar nachos,' and another admitted: 'Disposing my Racheal Ray pans right now for how disgraceful that was.'.

'When she butchered Soul Food I said nothing because I didn't eat Soul Food. When she butchered French Food I said nothing because I didn't eat French Food. When she butchered Mexican Food I cried because now I realized she's a butcher,' someone else commented. In a clip shared on Instagram, two Mexican women were filmed reacting to Rachael's cooking and they were not impressed. One of the Mexican women said Rachael's cooking looked like the soup she makes for her dog.

Another person wrote: 'The obsession with putting cumin on Mexican food is pathological. We barely use it. Doesn't make things taste Mexican, it makes them taste like if you were going to make a curry but forgot what you were doing in the process.'. A different Instagram user pleaded with fellow TV chef Gordon Ramsay in their comment and said: 'I kindly request that you engage in a formal discussion with your colleague Rachel. Please advise her to refrain from preparing Mexican cuisine.'.

They continued: 'It is offensive to our Mexican community and culture, and not at all amusing. Such behavior reflects poorly on the culinary community. 'Given her professional status as a culinary chef, one would expect a higher level of sophistication and understanding of the ingredients required to create these dishes with the care and passion they deserve. 'What is happening here? This is completely unacceptable! Gordon Ramsay, please address this issue promptly. Rachel, your actions are disgraceful and demonstrate a lack of professionalism for a chef of your standing,' they added.
