An Indian food lover has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a video of the bizarre way she indulges in her takeaway. Rachael Simmonite saw thousands of Brits react in shock as she shared the method behind her "takeaway roll" - a starter, main and side all-in-one. The mum-of-four regularly shares lifestyle tips on her account and this clip saw her explain exactly how she manages to eat the food in the way she dishes it up.
After laying the naan on her plate, Rachael began: "A lot of people are concerned about the poppadom getting soggy - I do get that - but it's fine, if you haven't tried it this way then do give it a go." After pulling out said poppadom from her delivery bag, Rachael added it on top of the naan followed by a large onion bhaji. Dismissing her inclusion of salad as it "doesn't look very nice", next Rachael scattered on a bag of onions, before spooning on a generous helping of an "absolutely gorgeous" chicken tikka mixed with spinach, onion, tomato and coriander.
With the meal now taking shape, Rachael poured on a pot of mint yoghurt before making room on her work surface to roll the ingredients together. "Yes it is going to crunch," she warned as the poppadom began to crumble inside. After rolling the naan tightly to secure its contents, Rachael took a knife and cut it in half and she was ready to go. "There's something about all of that and just the onion bhaji - I don't know what it is - but yeah just give it a go!" she hailed.
Rachael added in a caption: "Absolute 10/10 - and no I ain’t spreading the bhaji all over the wrap, it has it be in a lump." It prompted hundreds of TikTok users to express their admiration, including one person who declared: "You have just single-handedly started a new trend, game changer.". A second person quipped: "Thanks Rachael I'm 37 weeks pregnant, you are making me want curry for my breakfast! I'm definitely gonna try it this way, looks yummy." A third added: "Started this convinced I would be truly offended by the outcome, but I am in fact intrigued and planning on trying this.".
Whilst a fourth said: "I am definitely doing this next time I have an Indian takeaway! Question is, would you still do this if you were in the restaurant?" Rachael joked: "I’ve no idea… probably knowing me.". Elsewhere, an Indian TikTok user added proof that Rachael was on to a winner as he wrote: "Listen I’m Indian. I call it a roti/naan wrap! I do it all the time. I like doing a curry salad and sauce!" Whilst another hailed: "I'm Indian, and I think this will be the next viral wrap. Love it.".
