Ringo Starr fans have been howling with laughter after unravelling the mystery behind a quirky tour habit of the Beatles' famed drummer. With Starr releasing his new country album "Look Up", many are taking a trip down memory lane, recalling his past tours and a particularly odd keepsake.

At 84, it's unclear if The Beatles' drummer still counts on "Pete" for company during gigs, however, Beatlemaniacs couldn't contain their joy upon seeing snapshots of the peculiar sidekick. Images of "Pete" have since been shared online, and fans are loving it as they now speculate where the item got its name.

The pineapple, which has been part of Starr's lodgings and internet persona back in the early days of the web, has left some stumped while others speculate its connection to Pete Best, the initial drummer of the Liverpool quartet replaced by Starr. An online post spotted said: "Thinking about when Ringo first started to use the internet and started sharing around this pineapple he took on tour with him named Pineapple Pete.".

Subsequently, images of Starr chilling with Pineapple Pete surfaced. Inquiries and theories hit social media hard; one fan asked: "Is this for real?
