Infinity Pool premiered in January, 2023, with Alexander Skarsgård, Mia Goth and Cleopatra Coleman leading the cast. The scare-fest, written and directed by Brandon Cronenberg, focused on novelist James Foster (Alexander) and his partner Em (Cleopatra) jetting to an idyllic resort on holiday.
They bump into Gabi (Mia), who is a fan of James’ book and invites them to dinner – however, things take an unnerving turn when the author accidentally kills someone, before learning the bizarre way that tourists are penalized for crimes. As things become increasingly tense, will anyone leave the trip unscathed?.
Thankfully, those who missed the cinema release can now find out as Infinity Pool has been added to the streaming service – but you might need a pillow to hide behind…. The film currently boasts a huge Rotten Tomatoes critics score of 87%, compared to the audience ranking of 52%.
Heaping praise on Brandon’s efforts, Empire’s Sophie Butcher described it as ‘a slick, satirical, insane thrill-ride’. Todd Jorgenson of Cinemalogue agreed: ‘This deviously twisted science-fiction satire balances quirks and frights while finding its offbeat rhythm amid a beautiful but haunting exotic backdrop that conceals some disturbing secrets.’.
