A rock band has been forced to cancel all their shows for 2025 as their frontman battles a heath condition. Flogging Molly made the devastating announcement as they axed all their upcoming gigs. Frontman Dave King is facing a "very serious health condition" so the band made the decision to not carry on without him. The Irish-American punk band was formed in 1993 and is made up of seven members. In a statement, they said: "To our family, friends and fans, our fearless leader, the inimitable Dave King, is currently battling a very serious health condition. Dave and Bridget ask everyone to respect their privacy at this time, we will share as we can. Any good thoughts or prayers you can send Dave's way, he and we would appreciate it.
"Unfortunately Flogging Molly will be unable to perform shows in 2025. With the Salty Dog Cruise 12 days away, the boat will sail as planned with 18 bands, and members of Flogging Molly, on board to celebrate the cruise, the community and our captain, Dave King." Fans have been told to contact their ticket provider for refunds and also shared their well wishes. One said: "Get well soon, dear friend." Another added: "Sending positive vibes your way Dave! You got this!" Someone else commented: "Sending prayers and all the positivity to you Dave and the whole family." A fourth wrote: "We wish you all the best and a speedy recovery, Dave!".
Another shared: "Keeping Dave, Bridget and you guys in our thoughts. Truly hope everything will be fine in the end. Much love from the Donots HQ!" A fan added: "Sending all our love and prayers Dave; I love you guys so incredibly much! Sending good energy, healing thoughts and tight hugs your way.". Flogging Molly were set to tour Europe as well as the US including cities Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Tempe, Orlando and Houston during their now cancelled Road To Rebellion Tour. Dave, who is from Dublin, is the founding member of the band and was also part of heavy metal band Fastway in the past. Last year, Flogging Molly headed to Europe and toured the US.
In 2015, Flogging Molly started hosting a Caribbean cruise, which featured shows by the band as well as many others. The Salty Dog Cruise Cruise has ran five times and has seen the likes of Frank Turner, Buzzcocks, Stiff Little Fingers, The English Beat and The Vandals perform on board. The band announced their 2025 cruise would run from February 17 till the 22nd from Miami, Florida to Grand Cayman and Ochos Rios, Jamaica. It was sold out by the end of 2023, yet Flogging Molly will now no longer be performing on the cruise due to Dave's health.
