Roy Keane was in agreement with Bruno Fernandes following Manchester United's draw with Liverpool - with the Red Devils icon finding new reason to criticise his former club. United produced a shock result to earn a share of the spoils at Anfield, and could have perhaps even have taken three points if they'd been more clinical. It was a bewildering response having lost three Premier League matches in a row without scoring a goal ahead of facing the Reds.
Former United captain Keane was left with an element of frustration following the performance however. The ex-midfielder questioned why his former side were unable to produce the same level against all operation. "Manchester United turned up," said Keane. "They showed a bit of passion. They did it at Manchester City recently as well.
"The argument to all of this though is that you can't just pick and choose when you want to turn up for a game at Manchester United. I don't think anyone would have predicted them scoring two goals today or nearly nicking it at the end. But the key is that they have to back it up.
Fernandes, who has been criticised for his captaincy by Keane, mirrored the Irishman's stance. The Portugal international seemed unimpressed and frustrated when speaking following the game. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "We have been criticised and fairly. Our position in the table says it all, we have lost too many points. Even today we can't be happy with a point. We need the points and we could've won the game at the end, but it's a fair result. Both teams played good football.
