US singer Sabrina Carpenter will receive the global success award at the 2025 Brit Awards and perform at its London ceremony. Carpenter, 25, will become only the fifth artist to receive the award on Saturday, March 1 at the O2 Arena, following One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Adele and Sam Smith, and will be the first international artist to take the gong. The Please Please Please singer won her first Grammy Awards for best pop vocal album for Short N’ Sweet and best pop solo performance for Espresso earlier this month.

The latest award is in recognition of her breakthrough year in 2024, in which she became the first woman to simultaneously occupy the top three spots of the UK singles chart with Taste, Please Please Please, and Espresso. In the US, she became the first artist to have their first three top five hits in the top five simultaneously since The Beatles 60 years ago. Damian Christian, chairman of the Brit committee for 2025, said: “Congratulations to Sabrina on winning this prestigious award.

“Everyone involved in the show is looking forward to her performance, which promises to be one of the highlights of the night.”. The singer is also nominated for international artist of the year and international song of the year for Espresso. Other 2025 Brit Awards nominees include Brat star Charli XCX, The Beatles, who are nominated for their first gong since 1977, and Dua Lipa. Carpenter will join Jade, Myles Smith, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims and The Last Dinner Party in taking to the stage.
