Musician Gary Kemp has extended an olive branch to Tony Hadley over a potential Spandau Ballet reunion. Tony left the band for good in 2017 in a war of words with his bandmates. But Kemp says the door is open for a return for Hadley into the fold. Quizzed if he wanted a full-band reunion, he tells Uncut: “I'm not not up for it. If we were going to do it, it would have to be with Tony. When he wants to do it, then I'll be up for getting in the rehearsal room. One hundred per cent.”.

The original Spandau line-up - Tony, Gary and his brother Martin, John Keeble and Steve Norman - first split in 1990. After a bitter legal dispute between the trio of Tony, John and Steve with Gary, over songwriting royalties, the band reformed in 2009.

But Tony left Spandau for good in 2017 and was replaced by Ross William Wild for two years. Tony has previously said he would not get back with the band “in a million years”. He said: “They'd like to get back together, I wouldn't. I want to be happy in life and I'm very lucky, I've got wonderful family and friends. I've got a fantastic band and I love what I do and I'm enjoying it. I don't have any pressures as such.".

Tony even said he would prefer to join New Romantic rivals Duran Duran rather than his old band. "I've always been a big fan of theirs so what could I say? If Simon Le Bon wants a bit of a holiday...I'm a big fan and my wife is as well,” he says. "You can put it out there that I would like to front Duran Duran." Tony has been touring solo instead, while Gary is releasing a new album This Destination.
