Strictly Come Dancing winner and Olympian Louis Smith has announced the arrival of his second child with girlfriend Charlie Bruce. Louis, 35 – who was awarded an MBE in 2013 – began dating Charlie, a British jazz dancer from Leicestershire, in November 2017.

The pair had their first child, Marley Valentina, in February 2021. Louis is best known as a gymnastics champion, having earned several medals at the Olympics. In 2012, he won BBC dance show Strictly Come Dancing with professional partner Flavia Cacace.

Announcing the birth of their second child, Louis took to Instagram to share his admiration for Charlie and reveal that they’d named the baby Remi. He wrote: ‘Remi Monroe Smith 🌍7lb 9 Been a wild ride but so happy to say mum and baby are all doing ok.

‘Charlie you are so incredible to go through what you did should be so proud. Another experience that changes and shapes you from there after. 🥰’. The pair announced they were expecting earlier this year, with Louis writing on Instagram alongside an ultrasound photo: ‘So nice we had to do it twice!’.

Charlie also shared the announcement on her own Instagram page, which featured a scan photo among an arrangement of pink and blue treats.. Revealing the unborn baby’s due date, her caption read: ‘The best birthday present I could ask for 🥳👶🏻 Due 5.12.24’.
