JB Gill has spoken about the challenges his fellow Strictly Come Dancing contestant Wynne Evans is currently facing. Wynne, known for his role as the Go Compare opera singer, was recently removed from the 'Strictly' live tour after making an inappropriate comment about co-star Janette Manrara during a photocall. Following this incident, Wynne has apologised and announced he will take time off to reflect and focus on his well-being.

JB expressed his support for Wynne, acknowledging the difficulty of seeing a co-star leave under such circumstances and hoping for his recovery during this challenging period. The former JLS star told The Sun: “When you’re part of a cast like that, it’s always difficult when you see someone go and obviously the circumstances kind of speak for themselves and I can’t comment on that. But it is sad when you’re part of a big group.”.

JB revealed that he hopes Wynne can recover from this, saying: “I hope so, I’ve not been in direct contact with him, but I think he’s going through a bit of a tough time at the minute. Obviously I’m wishing him well and hoping he’ll be able to come back.”. This comes after Wynne broke his social media silence with a four-word comment to his Strictly co-star. The Welsh opera singer had been silent on Instagram for two weeks following the scandal that saw him leave the tour and have a break from his BBC radio show.

Now, he has returned to send a four-word comment to tour winner, former Love Island star, Tasha Ghouri. Tasha took to the platform to share her victorious images alongside professional dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec. She gushed in the caption: "Winners of the @strictlycomedancinglive tour!! 24 glitterballs, 35 arenas, a month of travelling around the UK & I get to take the trophy home after 6 months of strictly… this chapter has come to an end, but they all say good things come to an end. What an absolute whirlwind it has been, I really am going to miss this but here’s to more dancing in the future because it doesn’t end here!" Wynne commented: "Well done lovely lady. Xxxx.".

Wynne left the tour after making a lewd comment in host Janette's direction. He was was recorded commenting when she walked over to the group. He sang out: "Go Compare," before adding: "Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick]." He then used the hugely demeaning term "spit roast" in reference to a lewd sexual act. BBC bosses had initially let him off with a warning but then caved in as anger grew and he stepped away from the live dates. The Welsh singer apologised again for his behaviour and said: "I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.

“I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”. Like this story?
