Suede jackets are all the craze – and this M&S staple has been added straight to basket

Suede jackets burst on our radar last summer, and has been an outerwear staple numerous A-listers, including Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Kendall Hadid and Jennifer Lawrence, have worn. Months later and the trend is not going anywhere, which we are thankful for.

However, the majority of suede jackets we have seen fetch three figures, if not more, which is way out of our budget. Thankfully M&S is catering to our style needs and budgets with the Suedette Biker Jacket that retails for £69. This suedette jacket is a biker-chic dream! With its regular fit, off-centre zip, and sleek collarless neckline, it nails the edgy look. It boasts four pockets, including a handy ticket pocket with a flap and popper fastening. The stitch detailing and silver hardware give it that perfect authentic touch.

The Suedette Biker Jacket is a hybrid between a classic leather oversized biker jacket, and the straight relaxed fit suede staple. Most suede jackets I have seen are a tan or chocolate brown suede, boast a straight box fit, long sleeves and a tight collar. Some are slightly longline and fall a bit further down the upper thigh, while others sit on the hips.

This Suedette Biker Jacket merges the straight cut and length of the classic suede jacket with the collar and metallic details of a biker jacket, such as the zip front fastening, zip pockets, as well as the collar and long lapel combination. However, we like this two-in-one design as it makes the outerwear piece even more versatile and unique in comparison to other jackets.

M&S has used polyester fabric instead of real leather to craft this jacket, which is why this garment is more purse-friendly. It boasts an asymmetric zip front, as well as zip detailing on the sleeves to help ruche the sleeves up for a more casual fit.

Plus, this jacket is lined, which makes this feel even more premium, and helps to sit comfortably on the body. It is available in UK dress sizes 6 to 24, and is said to fit true to size.  However, sizes are selling out fast. Some may wear it as a jacket with a basic top, a fine knit or thicker jumper underneath, others may choose to style it under a thicker jacket for when the cold truly sets in.

The textured design can be paired with any type of jean, though we have seen a lot of stylists pair with long straight leg jeans and flares, though it can be styled with a maxi skirt, matching suede mini skirt, tailored trousers, and even over a bohemian dress – it couldn’t be more versatile.
