Sunday Brunch host Simon Rimmer was left fuming after Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hauer seemed to question his culinary skills. The Channel 4 cooking show aired on February 16 and featured guests Big Zuu, Harriet Kemsley, The Wombats, and Dave Gorman. Karen, who had previously partnered with Simon on Strictly, also appeared alongside fellow professional dancer Gorka Marquez ahead of their upcoming tour.
Host Tim Lovejoy asked Karen at the show's start: "Karen, welcome back to the show. You've obviously danced with both of these men. Which would you say is the better dancer?". After Karen gave a diplomatic response, Tim pushed further, asking: "And who's the better cook out of the two of them?". Karen hesitated over her answer, prompting Tim to comment: "She's thinking about it, no chance. It's his job!" This led Simon to exclaim, "Come on!" As a blushing, Karen quickly hid under the table.
Karen and Gorka are set to lead their Speakeasy tour, a new show featuring a variety of dance styles. From secret New York Speakeasies to steamy Havana dance floors and Burlesque Cabaret Clubs, fans have plenty to look forward to, reports Wales Online. According to the official description, the production will be a "delicious dance experience" that promises an "undercover world of elegance and iconic dance flavours".
"We're going through the eras, the 20s, 40s, and 60s, and we're going through the Speakeasy clubs. We always have those clubs where people go around and be what they want without being judged. So, we said we wanted to create that in the theatre," Gorka shared on Sunday Brunch. Karen then unveiled that it took them a whole year to craft a "different" concept for their latest tour after the success of their Firedance shows in 2023.
"It has a very sophisticated, sexy, dangerous kind of feel to it, and it's completely different to what you've seen us do before," she claimed. The exclusive run kicks off on February 24 in Dartford and will dazzle audiences until the final show at Leicester's De Montfort Hall on April 13. This sensational two-month stint is set to climax with a grand West End gala performance on April 15 at the legendary Adelphi Theatre in London.
