Hugh Jackman proved he's still got it on Monday as he showed off his ripped figure during a gruelling workout in Sydney. The Australian actor, 56, showed off his bulging biceps in a singlet as he performed a shoulder press with dumbbells at a gym in Bondi.

The Wolverine star completed his look with black shorts as he lifted heavy weights under the guidance of celebrity trainer and his close friend Michael Ryan. He was seen working up a sweat as he raised a weighted barbell and exercised his upper body muscles.

Following the intense training session, Hugh was seen taking a well deserved break and gulping water from his bottle. The actor recently revealed what he eats to obtain his muscular but lean physique for his role as Wolverine. Hugh Jackman proved he's still got it on Monday as he showed off his ripped figure during a gruelling workout in Sydney.

The Australian actor, 56, showed off his bulging biceps in a singlet as he performed a shoulder press with dumbbells at a gym in Bondi. One of his diet meals consisted of just three very tiny slices of fish, some steamed asparagus and a slice of lemon. Generally, men require about 2500 calories a day to simply maintain their weight.

However, Hugh revealed last year that he was consuming up to 8,000 calories a day to ensure his body was in top shape to play the iconic superhero. He said it takes him six months of hardcore training to physically prepare for his return as Wolverine. Hugh returned to Australia for the Christmas season with his children, Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19.
