An 18-year-old man has denied the murder of a father-of-seven. Colin Richards, 48, died in the Ely area of Cardiff on Sunday 7 April last year, after he was found unconscious in Snowden Road. Corey Gauci, 18, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday, where he entered not guilty pleas to charges of murder and violent disorder. Mr Richards, from the Grangetown area of the city, was a "much-loved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and an all-round family man", according to his family.

In a tribute released at the time of his death, they added: "He leaves behind seven children who will miss him greatly as he was very active in their lives. "Though the loss is deep, the power of love and friendship will always stay alive. He will always be in our minds and forever in our hearts.".
