A brand new Tesco Clubcard perk is being trialled — and it could save shoppers quite a bit of cash on their favourite items. The supermarket is testing Your Clubcard Prices, a new loyalty scheme feature which will give customers personalised discounts based on their shopping habits. Selected customers will be offered personalised deals every Wednesday on their mostbought items. What’s more, the same deal can then be used multiple times in a seven-day period.

Available through the Tesco app, the discounts will be automatically linked to shoppers’ Clubcards, making it easy to access the offers with a simple scan or a tap at the till as usual. It won’t affect regular Clubcard deals either. Not every Tesco customer will get to be part of the trial though. The offers are reserved for larger Tesco stores, and cannot be redeemed in Express stores or online. Currently, it’s also unclear how many customers will take part in the supermarket’s trial or how long it will last for.

A Tesco spokesperson said: ‘We are currently offering Your Clubcard Prices to a trial group of our Clubcard members, giving them offers on products they regularly buy at Tesco, in addition to the thousands of Clubcard Prices available to all Clubcard members each week.’. As of February 2024, a whopping 22 million households in the UK were Tesco Clubcard users. And if you’re not one of the lucky ones able to access the Your Clubcard Prices trial, there are still other ways to save some cash.

In December it was announced that EasyJet Holidays had joined Tesco’s Clubcard Reward Partner scheme, which already includes the likes of Disney+, 16-25 Railcard and P&O Ferries. Tesco shoppers can use their Clubcard vouchers to travel to any of EasyJet holidays destinations while include popular spots across Europe and North Africa. Shama Wilson, group membership and loyalty director at Tesco said: ‘We are sure that Clubcard members will be as delighted.

Did you know that Tesco has a second little-known Clubcard scheme?.

It’s known as the ‘Colleague Clubcard’ which comes with it’s own exclusive discounts and perks. It’s a benefit for Tesco employees who have worked at the business for three months or longer. Staff can even share their membership with a family member. The Colleague Clubcard provides staff with 10% off of purchases in-stores, online, and in Tesco cafes. This rises to 15% off after every pay day for a four-day period.

According to reviews on the Tesco site, the scheme is a hit with employees. Anthony, an online trade content executive is quoted as saying: ‘The colleague discount really makes a difference to my weekly and monthly shop and allows for luxuries at a lower cost.’. And on social media people have raved about the F&F discount in particular saying it’s ‘crazy good’. Do you have a story to share?. Get in touch by emailing MetroLifestyleTeam@Metro.co.uk.
