Dôen was first on my radar after Sofia Richie shared her love for the brand.  While we adore the fashion icon’s style, we’re not such a fan of the hefty price she forks out on her wardrobe staples. So, in true bargain hunting fashion, we have searched high and low for more affordable versions of the stunning summer dresses she adorns. Not ones to blow our own trumpet, but mission accomplished.

M&S has launched the Pure Cotton Tie Neck Midaxi Waisted Dress, which made us double take as it looks almost identical to Dôen’s Ischia Shirred Cotton-Blend Voile Midi Dress. The Pure Cotton Tie Neck Midaxi Dress retails for £45, whereas the Dôen design fetches over £300, which means the high street design could save you £262.

Made from 100% cotton this lightweight midaxi dress is a breathable and stylish dress perfect for day and night wear. It boasts a v-neckline with subtle gathering and a tie fastening. The A-line skirt billows out below the cinched shirring waist. It boasts puff sleeves, a tiered skirt, which adds extra volume. Available in petite, regular and tall.

The Ischia Shirred Cotton-Blend Voile Midi Dress has been crafted from a cotton and viscose blend. It features a V-neckline, with ruffle detailing along the hem. It also boasts short puff sleeves, as well as shirred detailing around the waist, as well as the sleeves. The A-line skirt flows out and falls midway down the calf. Available in extra extra small to extra extra large.

The M&S midaxi dress looks almost identical to the Dôen dress. Both designs feature puff short sleeves, midaxi length, and feature shirred detailing around the waist that works to cinch the wearer in before the A-line skirt billows out. While both dresses feature a V-neckline, the Dôen creation boasts a ruffle edging, which is a subtle detail. The designer version also features shirred detailing on the sleeves, which the M&S option doesn’t have.

The other significant difference, aside from the price tag, are the colour options. M&S’ dress is currently only available in a vibrant red hue, whereas the Ischia dress comes in an electric blue shade, black, as well as various printed versions too.

The M&S and Dôen dresses come in a range of sizes to suit all customers.  M&S offers petite, regular and tall versions of the dress, which range from 6 to 22.  While Dôen’s dress is available in extra extra small to extra extra large. Admittedly, we wanted to gatekeep the M&S design as it looks far more premium than its price tag leads you to believe, and we plan to wear it all summer long. It can be worn in the daytime, to the office, picnics in the park, as well as to a summer wedding.  It is ultra versatile as it can be paired with sandals, ballet pumps, as well as heels.

However, stock of the M&S summer must-have is selling out fast. Follow Metro across our social channels, on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Share your views in the comments below. Arrow MORE: Stay warm this winter with top puffa jackets to beat the cold as chosen by fashion expert.
