Travis Kelce broke a major rule ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs being defeated this year. The Chiefs' tight end and his teammates had been hoping to win the Super Bowl for the third consecutive year this year as they went against the Philadelphia Eagles. The world tuned into various TV networks as well as thousands packing into the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana to watch the tense final. The Philadelphia Eagles ended the Chief's dreams of winning an unprecedented three straight Super Bowls as they ran out 40-22 winners in New Orleans.
In true Super Bowl style, they also delivered a stellar half time performance, with rapper Kendrick Lamar taking to the pitch to entertain fans, as well as players. This year, Travis' girlfriend, Taylor Swift was once again on hand to cheer on her boyfriend from the VIP suites. But just hours before the match, Travis appeared to break a strict rule which he had previously imposed on himself ahead of matches. Ahead of the match, players often remain in their hotels close to the stadium in order to train. Travis, 35, himself previously admitted that this was important to help him remain focused.
Just two days before the match, Taylor and Travis arrived in New Orleans and headed to one of the swankiest restaurants in the area, Lilette, dining in a private part of the eatery. The Bad Blood singer looked sensational as she donned a black turtleneck dress and boots. Meanwhile, her boyfriend kept things casual in a grey tracksuit as they were escorted through a mob of fans to an awaiting car to whisk them back to their hotel. The Mirror US reported that Taylor was splashing a whopping $650,000 for her lavish accommodation over the weekend. The sprawling mansion is a gated property and offers incredible privacy. Set on a vast estate, the ivory detached house boasts its own luxurious drive and is nestled against an idyllic backdrop.
But while Taylor is often seen out and about in the cities she's visiting, Travis and his teammates often keep a low profile. The official NFL website states: "Coaches and players spend the two weeks before the Super Bowl by poring over their opponent’s game film and shoring up any areas of concern. Teams keep the same Wednesday through Friday practice schedule to maintain regular-season habits.".
It adds: "But now, there are many more distractions. Travel, media, logistics, and family and friends asking for tickets can sidetrack players. This is why coaches put a strong emphasis on practices the week before the Super Bowl." Although he's not breached any official rules, Travis last year admitted he wouldn't be venturing from his hotel room. He said on his New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his brother Jason: "We've got one week, we do what we need to do then we can party in Vegas for the rest of our lives. Everybody is pretty motivated and locked in at the task at hand.".
