Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has teased a retirement bombshell ahead of the Super Bowl this weekend, with Taylor Swift preparing to watch his side's huge showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. Kelce is one of the NFL's biggest superstars after winning three Super Bowls with the Chiefs but there has been speculation he could retire from the sport after Sunday's latest showpiece. The tight-end, who has been in the headlines off the field for his high-profile relationship with the singer, has faced lots of questions about his future after turning 35 but has repeated insisted he was happy playing football.

However, he recently threw open the possibility of retiring after claiming "we'll see what happens" when asked where he saw himself in three years' time. "Hopefully still playing football," he said. "I love doing this, I love coming into work every day. I feel like I still got a lot of good football left in me. We'll see what happens. I know I've been setting myself up for other opportunities in my life. That's always been the goal, knowing that football only lasts for so long.

However, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport has been told by a source that Kelce is "undecided" on his future and that while he is content playing for the Chiefs, he has "not been definitive" on his next move. "From what I am told, Travis Kelce is undecided about whether or not he wants to play during the 2025 season," Rapoport said. "He has said he believes he has a lot of good football left. He has said he envisions himself playing for the Kansas City Chiefs. But he has not been definitive. He has also said 'We’ll see what happens'. In other words to try and give himself some wiggle room.".

Rapoport added that Kelce's biggest predicament is that he has the potential to make more money outside of the NFL than in it, with opportunities awaiting him in television and cinema after retirement. Kelce has already made his on-screen debut after starring in FX show Grotesquerie in October. NFL fans can watch Super Bowl 59 for 99p with DAZN's NFL Game Pass. Usually £19.99, this includes the authentic US broadcast and provides access to all NFL content until July 31.
