West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury and could face another two months on the sidelines. Summerville has missed the last four games for the Hammers and Graham Potter revealed he’s unlikely to be back before the international break at the end of March. The £25million summer signing from Leeds has played just 45 minutes under new boss Potter, starting his first game in the FA Cup defeat at Aston Villa and setting up West Ham’s opener before coming off at half-time.

Summerville is likely to miss the next five league games starting with Brentford at the London Stadium on Saturday with their first game back after the international break at Wolves on April 1. ‘The setback was at the back end of his rehab,’ said Potter. ‘He just felt something, which is disappointing.’. There was better news, though, as Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez should be fit to take on Thomas Frank’s side, while defender Jean-Clair Todibo could return to the squad, with new signing Evan Ferguson in line to make his debut.

Crysencio Summerville may face another two months on the sidelines after a recovery setback. Summerville signed for £25m in the summer but only managed 45 minutes of football under Graham Potter. Evan Ferguson, on loan from Brighton, is in line to make his debut for the Hammers soon. Brighton striker Ferguson joined on loan in January until the end of the season in a reunion with Potter, the man who gave him his debut for the Seagulls aged 17.
Ferguson has only just returned from an ankle injury but Potter believes he’s ready to make an impact for West Ham. The Hammers have been blighted with injuries to their front line with strikers Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio ruled out and club captain Jarrod Bowen, who made a cameo on EastEnders last night, only just back from a fractured foot. ‘Evan’s trained well,’ added Potter. ‘He hasn't played loads of football recently, so we have to be careful with that and how many minutes he plays, whether that’s to start or at the end of the game.
