A woman, who stands accused of commanding her Rottweiler to assault a young girl, has declared to officers: "I didn't murder her". Tyshael Martin, 34, charged with first-degree murder and potentially facing the death penalty, is allegedly responsible for subjecting Jamaria Sessions, aged 9, to a terrifying ordeal of abuse. It is claimed that she egged on the dog to savage the petrified child, with recorded evidence capturing her threatening: "I'm fixin' to kill her.".
Reports from authorities state that the following morning, Jamaria was found deceased, her little body marred by bite marks, burns, lacerations, and contusions. Her father, LoJuan Sessions, 27, is also confronting legal repercussions – charged with aggravated manslaughter over his apparent negligence in keeping Jamaria safe. Yet, in the startling recent police interrogation video, a composed Martin attempts to retract her prior incriminating remarks as mere scare tactics. She displays bafflement over the accusation of murder levelled against her. When pressed by police for any last words, she asserts: "I mean, I just want to say I didn't cause her death. I didn't kill her, I didn't murder her. I didn't do none of it.", reports the Mirror US.
Martin challenged the detectives regarding the accusations, questioning: "Why am I being charged with premeditated murder". The officials explained that it stemmed from her remarks during Jamaria's critical moments. Martin maintained that her comments were merely meant to "scare" the child. The officer retorted: "Scare tactics was also premeditation.". The detective detailed the litany of injuries sustained by Jamaria before her tragic demise. He recounted on tape how she had been beaten, incurred broken teeth, and may have been bitten at the back of the head by a dog, noting that she had lacked proper food or water.
Martin contended that Jamaria broke her teeth after tumbling on a treadmill and appeared to indirectly hold her boyfriend responsible for the death. She stated: "I just, I mean, when you say accountable, I feel like I probably could have done more to, you know, possibly prevent things from happening.". Police seized over 3,000 disturbing videos from the home's CCTV system, which assisted in piecing together the dreadful suffering the girl experienced, uncovering burns and additional injuries even prior to the canine assault.
The recordings also captured the moment Martin set the large dog upon the youngster during the event on June 16. Lake County deputies rushed to the premises following a call from paramedics the next morning, discovering Jamaria motionless and lifeless in her bed. Horrific court documents have surfaced, detailing the extensive injuries suffered by a young girl, including "a significant number of abrasions, small punctures, burns, possible bite marks, and bruising covering her body, all in various stages of healing.".
A probable cause affidavit has brought to light a disturbing video that allegedly captures Jamaia being brutally assaulted by the family's 103lb male Rottweiler. Reports from local media indicate that Martin appears to be holding the leash, seemingly "encouraging the dog to bite" Jamaria as she is down on the ground, just beyond the camera's view. The chilling account goes on to describe subsequent footage showing Jamaria Sessions struggling to stand, naked and dishevelled. Her hair, which was partly tied up before, became untidy, with extensions coming loose – possibly due to the dog attacking her head upon Tyshael Martin's instigation.
The document alleges that Martin then forced the injured child to stand with her arms raised, but her injuries were so severe that she began to falter. In a fit of rage, Martin is accused of delivering a brutal kick that knocked Jamaria to the ground. The affidavit paints a gruesome picture: "The child lay motionless, moaning in pain, as Tyshael Martin continued to kick her hip and eventually her stomach area at full force.".
