Wynne Evans, 53, has the full support of his girlfriend Liz Brookes as he reportedly takes legal action against the BBC. The Sun report that the troubled Strictly star's relationship with events manager Liz, 50, is stronger than ever and she is back spending time at Wynne's Wales home after a tough few months for them both. 'Wynne's departure from the tour and his radio show was a really tough time for him and it put his relationship with Liz under strain,' an insider has claimed.

'They have now reconnected and Liz is completely supporting Wynne. 'She is back in his house in Wales and they are very much a couple. These past few weeks have been hell for Wynne but to have Liz by his side has made all the difference.'. MailOnline has contacted a representative for Wynne for comment. It was initially reported last month that Wynne  had split from his girlfriend after she was left 'humiliated' by his latest scandal, which saw him making a vile joke on camera in footage released by the Mail On Sunday. The pair had begun dating in the spring of last year following the break up of his 16 year marriage. Despite his tumultous time on Strictly, Liz supported Wynne throughout his time on the show and was often spotted cheering him on from the audience and sharing a sweet snap of them together, where she gushed she was 'proud' of him.

However, according to The Sun, she was 'humiliated' by his scandals on the show last year - notably his awkward 'hand wandering' moment with dance partner Katya Jones. Wynne previously revealed he hit 'rock bottom' in the midst of his depression, stemming from the end of his marriage to Welsh violinist Tanwen, the mother of his two children, in 2016. They pair had first met on a British Youth Orchestra course, where Wynne was starring in a production of Robin Crusoe.

After the divorce he was forced to leave the family home he shared with their kids daughter Ismay, and son, Taliesin - moving into a 'sad' derelict house with boarded up windows in Cardiff as that was all he could afford at the time. Liz, who he met at an event after his marriage ended, helped turn Wynne's life around and even sparked an interest in fitness, helping him get in better shape for his Strictly stint.

The Sun report that the troubled Strictly star's relationship with Liz is stronger than ever and she is back spending time at Wynne's Wales home after a tough few months for them both. Wynne believes he has been 'unfairly treated' by the BBC after his spit-roast joke was reportedly a 'known nickname for a co-star and taken as banter within his Strictly circle. The Go Compare star, 53, is reportedly planning to 'take the BBC to a tribunal' over his 'unfair treatment' after he was axed from the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.

Wynne apologised for the vile remark aimed at tour host Janette Manrara, when footage emerged of the comment at the tour's press launch. Wynne was recorded crudely suggesting a three-way sex session with presenter Janette, using the hugely demeaning term 'spit roast'. Janette did not make a complaint against the singer. Now, it has been claimed the sexual remark didn't come as a surprise to those in his circle as the comment was 'known to many of the professionals and celebrities taking part in the tour'.

According to The Sun, the phrase was 'widely remarked on and laughed at during the tour and became something that was regularly bandied about', before Wynne was caught. Friends of the Welsh opera singer told the publication Wynne is 'incredibly upset' no one jumped to defend him publicly in light of the 'long-running joke'. A friend told The Sun: 'Wynne loves to fill silences. He is a funny person by nature and when you are with him he will crack jokes left, right and centre.

'Some are on the knuckle but it's nothing worse than anything any 50-something-year-old bloke would say. MailOnline contacted Wynne's representatives and the BBC for comment. 'She is back in his house and they are very much a couple. These past few weeks have been hell for Wynne but to have Liz by his side has made all the difference,' an insider has revealed. In the MoS film, Wynne stands in the middle of a line-up of 20 celebrities and dancers as Janette, who hosts the TV spin-off Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, is summoned to join them. As she approaches, Wynne warns her with a grin: 'Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick]!'.

He then pulls a suggestive face at the actor, behind Janette's back, as she moves between them. It is at this point that Wynne makes his disgusting joke at her expense. Seconds later, Janette's dancer husband Aljaz Skorjanec, who was standing nearby, asks her: 'Darling, are you OK?' She replies curtly: 'Yep.'. Janette's spokesperson said the host had been 'unaware of this comment by Wynne' which was audible to our reporter filming with a mobile phone 20 yards away.
