The 47 year old TV host caused worry among her followers when she announced that her five year old had been hospitalised, without providing any further information about his condition.
Alex posted a picture on Instagram of her son in a hospital bed, his face concealed, being looked after by a nurse.
Just minutes into Monday evening's episode, Alex and her co-host Lauren Laverne took a brief pause from the show to make an announcement.
"You can now send us a message using our new WhatsApp number," Alex confirmed.
