Amazon Prime viewers are recommending subscribers check out a series with a perfect score that is better than most Marvel movies before a brand new series is released. Fans also say not to be put off by the fact Invincible is an animated show, saying that it packs a bigger emotional punch than many other options. The first two series are available to stream now on the streaming platform with a third instalment die to land on the service in February.
The show is a faithful adaptation of the comic book series of the same name. Those comics were penned by Robert Kirkman who also created The Walking Dead. Kirkman co-created Invincible in the same year as his take on the zombie apocalypse with issues being published from 2003 until 2018.
The cast for the adaptation includes several recognisable voices including Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Seth Rogen, Jon Hamm and Mark Hamill to name a few. Following the same story as the original comic, the show follows Mark Grayson, a seemingly normal teenager whose father Nolan is the most powerful superhero on the planet.
Shortly after his 17th birthday, Mark begins to develop powers of his own and learns how to wield them with help from his father. However, Mark soon discovers his father has been hiding a terrible secret and learns of his dark past with him turning out to not be as heroic as he thought.
Hailed for staying true to the source material and managing to recreate the comic's artwork in its animation, the show has been a hit with critics and fans alike. The first series managed to gain a 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while the second season earned a perfect 100% rating.
