Ange Postecoglou is without FOURTEEN first-team players for Tottenham’s trip to Hoffenheim on Thursday evening. And the Spurs boss, under pressure after a run of just one win in their past 10 Premier League games, has admitted there is “potentially” a chance that his bare bones squad will not be boosted by any incomings. Tottenham are pushing to add another attacker in the transfer window but have been frustrated in their attempts.

Postecoglou has welcomed in goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky but the Czech is ineligible to feature in Germany and Pape Matar Sarr joined the injury list after pulling up in training yesterday. Spurs are well placed to reach the knockout stages but a defeat against Hoffenheim, who are just three points clear of relegation in the Bundesliga, could leave them facing an extra two-legged play-off next month.

And asked if there is a chance of no more signings being made between down and the deadline on February 3, Postecoglou said: “Yeah, potentially. "The club is working hard to get some help for the players. As far as I'm aware there's nothing imminent but in the last week of the window things happen quickly.”.

Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been cleared to return after going through concussion protocols but Postecoglou’s selection woes show no signs of easing in the short-term. Sarr is the latest to join the absentee list having sustained a knock in Sunday’s loss away to Everton. "He tried to train but he's still a bit sore from the weekend,” Postecoglou said. “We're hoping it's not something that will keep him out for too long, he has a chance for the weekend, but the turnaround was too quick.".
