Antony has sent a six-word message to fans after he left Manchester United on loan for the remainder of the season. Antony has joined LaLiga side Real Betis, with the winger hoping to rediscover his form after struggling at Old Trafford. The winger failed to make much of an impact since joining United from Ajax in a big money deal back in 2022.
And after the loan move was confirmed, Antony took to social media to share some photos from his unveiling with the caption: "Intense day! Made a new story!" Betis are covering the majority of Antony's wages, but the deal does not include an option or obligation to buy.
As a result, the 24-year-old is set to return to United next season and manager Ruben Amorim will be hoping Antony comes back to Old Trafford with renewed confidence. The Brazilian did not make a single Premier League start under Amorim and, when asked about his future last month, he said: "He needs more confidence.
"If you remember the Antony at Ajax, he lacks a little bit of confidence to go one-v-one, so he will improve. " But he's working really hard, he's trying, he's playing more inside than outside. You have to do that to work really hard and that will help him to be a better player.".
Antony is not expected to be the last player to leave United this month, withMarcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho both heavily linked with moves away from Old Trafford. Rashford has not played for United since December and has publicly stated that he is "ready for a new challenge".
