Emma Raducanu plays her second match at the 2025 Australian Open on Thursday as she locks horns with world No.35 Amanda Anisimova. The 22-year-old conjured up a brilliant 7-6 7-6 victory over 26th-seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in her opener on Tuesday, joining five other British players in the second round of the iconic Grand Slam tennis tournament.
Raducanu must now find a way past America’s Anisimova at Melbourne Park – and in order to do that she’ll need to cut down on her double faults and make significant improvements on her second serve. Here’s everything you need to know about Raducanu’s second-round match as the unseeded Brit, world No.61, looks to continue her run Down Under.
Emma Raducanu plays her second match at the Australian Open on Thursday, January 16 – which is the fifth day of action at Melbourne Park. The Australian Open Order of Play for Thursday will be announced on Wednesday, which is when we will find out which court Raducanu will take to.
‘Schedules are released at approximately 6pm AEDT on the day prior to play,’ the Australian Open website reads. The exact time for Raducanu’s first match will depend on the length of other matches which take place on the same court on Thursday. Play at the Australian Open will begin at 12am UK time each day on the outside courts and 1am on the show courts. The Australian Open night sessions will start at 8am UK time.
