Randal Kolo Muani has previously revealed his “dream” of playing in England as reports suggest he could be offered to Arsenal in the January transfer window. The Frenchman joined PSG from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023, but has struggled for regular game time this season even with Kylian Mbappe leaving to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.
So far, the 26-year-old has made just two starts across Ligue 1 and the Champions League and as a result, Arsenal are one of a number of clubs likely to be offered the chance to sign Kolo Muani on loan in January. With that said, it remains to be seen whether the Gunners are interested as they are yet to decide whether to dip into the transfer market after losing Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling to injury.
It was confirmed on Monday that the England international is set to be sidelined for “many weeks” after tearing his hamstring in Saturday’s 5-1 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League, whilst the latter is also out with a knee injury. Now, the north London outfit were not expected to move for a wide player next month but the sudden loss of both wingers could yet force a rethink.
If Arsenal were to perform a u-turn and pursue Kolo Muani - who can play out wide and through the middle - it may not take much to convince him on a switch to England based on comments made in June 2023 prior to joining PSG. “It’s flattering that PSG are interested in you, like all the other big clubs,” he told Canal Football Club. “It’s not just because you come from the Parisian region and grow up there that you should automatically play for PSG.
