England striker Watkins missed Villa’s 2-1 win over Tottenham in the FA Cup fourth round last weekend due to the injury he sustained against Wolves last time out in the Premier League.
However, Unai Emery was confident Watkins would return for Saturday’s game when speaking last week and, on Friday, the Villa boss confirmed the 29-year-old would be available.
Arsenal made a bid to sign Watkins during the January transfer window but were snubbed by the Midlands giants, who sit eighth in the Premier League table ahead of this weekend’s fixtures.
Aston Villa will have Ollie Watkins available for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Ipswich.
“Those who have trained this morning with the group and are in the squad are Mings and Ollie Watkins,” said the Villa boss.
