Neighbours of Southport murderer Axel Rudakubana want to move after learning of the atrocities he carried out, a councillor has revealed. Horrified residents on the quiet cul-de-sac where the killer lived have been targeted themselves, while the murderer's family has been forced into hiding. Rudakubana, 18, launched the appalling knife attack on a Taylor Swift-themed party at the Hart Space studio on July 29, killing Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six and seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe.

He is facing a life sentence as he's sentenced today for the crimes after pleading guilty to the three murders and 13 other offences on Monday. Liverpool Crown Court heard how he had harboured a sick obsession with violence and also made the chemical ricin in his bedroom.

Now neighbours on the street in Banks, Lancashire, where Rudakubana was living at the time say they have faced a fraught year, with ghouls taking photos and some properties coming under attack. At least one home on the street has been put on the market in the wake of the tragedy, resident Paul Jones, 66, told The Independent.

According to resident Owen Aimson, most residents had never even seen the teenager and were unaware the perpetrator of the attacks lived just metres from their doors until CCTV was released, showing him leaving home on the day of the murders. Owen, 21, said he recalled seeing a police car outside the home on multiple occasions.
