Bad night for Brits at the Golden Globes as Daniel Craig, Hugh Grant & Eddie Redmayne lose – but Baby Reindeer triumphs

BRITISH actors suffered a disappointing night at The Golden Globe Awards 2025. Overnight, shock wins saw Demi Moore became a first-time winner aged 62 for Best Actress and stars including Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman losing to Fernanda Torres. However, luck was not on the side of actors and filmmakers from the UK who only managed to pick up a handful of gongs.
Despite triumph from Netflix's hit show Baby Reindeer, British stars including Daniel Craig, Hugh Grant and Eddie Redmayne all lost. Kate Winslet, Cynthia Erivo, Tilda Swinton, Gary Oldman, Ewan McGregor and Jack Lowden also missed out. The day was saved by Baby Reindeer which won Best Limited TV series, accepted by creator Richard Gadd.
His British co-star Jessica Gunning won best female supporting actress in the television category for the dark comedy. Despite rave reviews, Hugh Grant was snubbed for Best Actor - musical or comedy - with Sebastian Stan taking the award home for A Different Man.
Daniel Craig missed out on Best Actor for drama against Timothée Chalamet in A Complete Unknown with Adrien Brody in The Brutalist winning the competitive category. HERE are the winners of some of the biggest awards of the night:. Best film - drama. Best film - musical or comedy.
