Wade Boggs is cancer free! The Tampa Bay Rays legend shared the incredible news on his social media on Friday afternoon, thanking his doctors and the public for their prayers. Boggs revealed last September he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, with him keeping his fans posted about his health journey. Now, the 66-year-old Baseball Hall of Famer has shared his status of being in remission. 'An extremely emotional day I can’t thank my doctor’s Dr. Engleman and Dr. Heidenberg enough also to everyone for your thoughts and prayers Debbie and I are pleased to announce I am cancer free,' Boggs said on X.

To one fan who wrote 'Base hit!' to Boggs, he responded saying, 'Home run.'. Boggs' last major update came in November, when he said he underwent his last treatment for the disease. Boggs announced he is cancer free in an emotional social media post on Friday afternoon. Boggs is likely best known for his 10-year stint with the Boston Red Sox and eventually signed with their archrivals, the New York Yankees, before the start of the 1993 season.
