Benjamina Ebuehi’s recipe for peanut butter and chocolate flapjacks | The sweet spot The chances are you’ve already got most of the ingredients for these sweet treats in the kitchen cupboard, so you’re ready to get baking.
Put the butter, golden syrup, sugar and peanut butter in a small saucepan and heat gently until combined.
Put the oats in a large bowl, then pour over the hot butter mixture and give it a good mix so everything is evenly coated.
Tip the oat mixture into the prepared tin, pressing it down firmly, then bake for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are golden; it will still look a little soft in the middle.
I had two large opened bags of oats and even more bottles of golden syrup, so naturally a batch of flapjacks was the only answer.
