The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an urgent recall of frozen Birds Eye goods in the freezer to an allergy risk. The company disclosed that its Goodfella's Stonebaked Thin Garlic Bread includes milk, which was not mentioned on the label. In a statement, the FSA shared: “The garlic bread has been mispacked with a garlic bread that contains cheese. “This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”.
The impacted food's batch code is 5020, and its best-before date is December 2025. If your food was impacted and you have an allergy, don't consume it. Instead, return the packaging to the store where you purchased it for a refund, according to Birds Eye. Along with providing their name, address, and contact information on their contact page, customers may also take a photo of the box, displaying the batch code, and email it to Birds Eye.
Customers may have noticed quite a number of products are being recalled recently, and the FSA explains why products are usually withdrawn. The FSA said: “Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold. Then it might be "withdrawn" (taken off the shelves) or "recalled" (when customers are asked to return the product). “Sometimes foods have to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy labelling is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk. When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an Allergy Alert.”.
