Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally reached a settlement in their divorce after battling it out in court for eight long years. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Tomb Raider star Angelina filed her paperwork on Monday. In a statement, Angelina's lawyer James Simon said: "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family.
"This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.". Angelina, who is estimated to have a net worth of around $120million, opted to forgo spousal and family support from Brad. Lawyers for Brad are yet to comment on the settlement.
Oscar winners Jolie, 49, and Pitt, 61, dubbed "Brangelina", were at one point the golden couple of Hollywood after marrying and welcoming six children together. They tied the knot in France in 2014 in an intimate ceremony in front of their children - who also helped custom design Angelina's wedding dress.
Angelina then shook the showbiz world by filing for divorce just two years later citing 'irreconcilable differences.' The move came after the couple took a private jet flight from Europe, during which Angelina claims Pitt was abusive towards her and their children. Brad has always denied the allegation and was cleared by authorities following an investigation.
