Ben Whitehead took over the role in the 2010s after Sallis' declining health made acting increasingly difficult, and he voiced Wallace in shorts and exhibitions - but new release Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl marked Whitehead's first feature film, with the BBC's Christmas Day special coming 16 years after the last movie.
Nick Park previously expressed the challenges of creating a Wallace and Gromit film without Sallis, and in the lead-up to the release of Vengeance Most Fowl, reflected: "It has been quite emotional (doing this production) since we lost Peter, he was such an original, unique voice.".
She shared in a statement: "I have had the pleasure of working with Fumi for over three decades, from our Disney/Pixar days, through DreamWorks and Locksmith projects…her positive energy and effort in making connections and supporting independent filmmakers within our industry are irreplaceable.
Among the star's major successes are Coraline, the first three Shrek films, Chicken Run, How to Train Your Dragon, and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Sadly, Fumi isn't the only person behind Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit to have passed away.
